    Hey guys,

So some important news. We will air on TV this thursday! (dec 10).

Assuming that it remains open during finals week, we will be having a celebration at round table pizza to watch it. Keep an eye out for emails for updates.

And, the moment you guys have been waiting for: We finally (sorta) decided on our concept!

The overall robot will be a defensive hammer robot with some modularity if we have time down the line.

For now, our drivetrain will use either ghetto scooter motors for drive (http://www.allelectronics.com/make-a-store/item/DCM-1353/24VDC-350W-MOTOR-11-TOOTH-24-WIRE/1.html) or Ampflow motors (http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/0M-E150.html)

We will be pursuing two designs further:

    Low profile, invertible hammer

    -          Capable of driving upside down

    -          Fully functional upside down ( hammer can swing almost 360 degrees)

    -          Highly mobile

    Heavy armor, non invertible hammer

    -          Heavily armored all around

    -          Very hard to tip

    -          The hammer might be able to flip us over if we end up upside down

Here is a picture of the robot concept, the cad will be made available soon.

    Winter Break Plans:

As it stands now, we will begin designing the robot in solidworks over winter break. It will be somewhat individual, however, those who are designing will upload pictures and their models, so people can comment and make changes.

We will probably switch to email communication, or maybe a hybrid of the website and email. To design during winterbreak, Donald came up with the idea that every Friday, we will comment on current progress, and then set goals for the next week.

After Winterbreak we will probably have 1 or 2 meetings to recap on designs and finalize, then we will begin to build!

good luck with finals and have a nice holiday
